In 1941, Hemingray redesigned one of their most popular designs, the No.20 (CD 164). This new design used less glass, and was slimmer and taller. The vast majority of these insulators were produced with Round Drip Points (RDP), but a few made in 1941 have been found with Smooth Bases (SB), such as the specimen shown on this page.
