Hemingray Insulator Profile: CD 283  
This is the second size in the high voltage Provo Type series. Other sizes include the No.2 (CD 282), No.0 (CD 249), and the experimental No.4 (303.5). In the 1915 Western Electric catalog, this style was officially Hemingray No.74, though no specimens exist embossed with this style number.

1 3/8" Pinhole Variant

In addition to the standard 1" diameter pinhole, Hemingray also manufactured a special 1 3/8" pinhole for larger pins. Note the wider dome and wire grooves to accommodate the wider pinhole. This variant appears in the [030] and [040] embossings.
